Our Brains and Distractions

From the same book, “The Myths of Innovation”, I also found,

“The human brain is fascinating for many reasons but one of its most devastating features is its lust for wishful thinking, When faced with a day of avoidable hard work (e.g. work on a pet project that might lead to a breakthrough or might not), our brains are amazingly fertile places for distraction. And one of the favourite kind of distraction is the quest for silver bullets, we get distracted from the actual work and, before you know it, it is time for a meeting, dinner, or to go to bed.”
